Luke Gregerson

St. Louis Cardinals

Pitch Repertoire At-A-Glance

Although they have not thrown an MLB pitch in 2024, Luke Gregerson threw 9,552 pitches that were tracked by the PITCHf/x system between 2009 and 2019, including pitches thrown in the MLB Regular Season, the MLB Postseason and Spring Training. In 2019, they relied primarily on their Sinker (87mph), Slider (79mph) and Fourseam Fastball (86mph), also mixing in a Change (83mph).

In 2019, compared to other RHP:
Their sinker is so slow that it is substantially gravitational, has heavy sinking action and has surprisingly little armside run. Their slider comes in below hitting speed, sweeps across the zone, has exceptional depth and is an extreme flyball pitch compared to other pitchers' sliders. Their fourseam fastball comes in below hitting speed, has heavy sinking action, is basically never swung at and missed compared to other pitchers' fourseamers, is an extreme flyball pitch compared to other pitchers' fourseamers and has less armside movement than typical. Their change (take this with a grain of salt because they've only thrown 9 of them in 2019) is basically never swung at and missed compared to other pitchers' changeups, results in more flyballs compared to other pitchers' changeups and has some natural sink to it.
